According to research conducted by Harvard Medical School, regular exercise releases brain chemicals that are important for improving your memory, concentration, and mental sharpness. That’s perhaps one of the reasons why so many successful people devote a significant portion of their day on exercise.

Tom Corley, the author of Change Your Habits, Change Your Lifefound that 76 percent of the rich people he researched exercise for at least 30 minutes a day.

From Oprah Winfrey to Mark Cuban, the successful people featured below are serious fitness addicts. Here are their awesome workout routines.

#1 Oprah Winfrey

Workout: 10,000 steps a day (approx. 5 miles)

The billionaire talk show host, philanthropist, and investor, strives to walk at least 10,000 steps a day.

“I try to do something every day that allows me to feel active, and I don’t make myself crazy about it,” said Oprah in an interview with People magazine.

#2 Richard Branson

Workout: Early-morning running, biking, and kitesurfing

Branson may be fast approaching 70, but he doesn’t let age get in the way of his workout routine. The billionaire founder of the Virgin Group wakes up at 5am every day and starts exercising.

He runs, plays tennis, bikes, and even kitesurfs, provided there’s enough wind. He claims his insane workout routine helps him “achieve twice as much”.

#3 Jessica Alba

Workout: YogaSculpt and Krav Maga

Actress and founder of the incredibly successful The Honest Company, Jessica Alba wakes up early in the morning to do YogaSculpt, a more physically demanding version of hot yoga at 107 degrees. She also has taken Krav Maga classes, a military self-defense system developed for the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

Alba claims that working out benefits her more mentally than physically, helping her brain get kickstarted for the day ahead.

#4 Tim Cook

Workout: 3.45am gym visits

Tim Cook

The Apple CEO is a self-described ‘fitness nut’. He wakes up every day at 3.45am and heads to the gym. He spends 50 minutes in the gym and also walks close to 10,000 steps a day.

#5 Mark Cuban

Workout: 300-pound bench-pressing

 

The billionaire owner of Dallas Mavericks and a “shark” investor on Shark Tank aims to do an hour of cardio six or seven days a week.

Cuban has an intense workout routine, where he goes on an elliptical and stair gauntlet, plays basketball, and takes kickboxing and Latin fusion aerobic classes. He also does 300-pound bench-pressing and watches NBA while exercising.
